NOTE OF WEIGHT

The death of someone we love is always a cause for great sadness. And at this moment, all our solidarity goes out to our comrade Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for the death of Dona Marisa Letícia.

More than just Lula's wife, as we've become accustomed to remembering her, Dona Marisa Letícia was a militant member of the Workers' Party, participating in important and decisive moments in major national issues. She was active in various Workers' Party initiatives, from the most complex to the simplest and no less symbolic, such as the creation of the first PT flag in the 1980s, a project she participated in and often recalled with pride. During Lula's two terms, she did not hold formal public office; however, she assumed the responsibility of accompanying and providing all the moral support necessary for him to fulfill his mission to the Brazilian people.

Dona Marisa was a tireless woman, always accompanying Lula on many occasions. One of my most vivid memories is from the caravans when she traveled with her husband, getting to know the peculiarities of each part of Brazil and understanding the social and economic profile of each region. She visited Piauí several times, where I had the opportunity to meet her. From that time on, I had the privilege of spending time with her and recognizing her as an honest, simple person with great love for her family, for Brazil, and for Lula.

I regret that all this dedication has led her to experience the bitter taste of persecution and has caused her to suffer greatly from the inhumane and cruel attacks made against her family to get to President Lula. I think no one can doubt that Dona Marisa's illness may have many other origins, but without a doubt, one of the possible immediate causes is associated with all the stress and psychological pressure she has suffered during the last few months while facing the most profound slander and defamation.

In this time of pain and sadness due to this irreparable loss, I offer my condolences to his friends and family. Faced with this untimely passing, I pray to God that He grants comfort to all during this distressing time. To my friend Lula, I send a warm embrace and wish him strength to face the grief that will bring him much pain. I also take this opportunity to commend the organ donation initiative, a gesture that demonstrates, once again, the dignity of the Lula da Silva family even in the most difficult moments of life.
