For over a year, Governor Jaques Wagner has not seen his government's approval rating reach 50%, nor the more than 60% he had at the end of his first term.

An Ibope poll conducted in partnership with the National Federation of Industries (CNI) and released this Thursday places the head of the Bahia state government in seventh place among the 11 governors evaluated.

In total, 28% of those interviewed considered Jaques Wagner's administration to be excellent or good. However, the Ibope poll shows an 8% improvement compared to a poll by the Seculus Institute released a week ago, which indicated that the Workers' Party member had a 20% approval rating.

However, in the personal approval rating survey, Wagner appears with 45% popular approval, which is above the national average (42%) of the governors evaluated.

At the top of the ranking for management evaluation is the governor of Pernambuco and possible presidential candidate in 2014, Eduardo Campos, of the PSB party. The socialist has a good or excellent rating from 58% of Pernambuco residents.

The socialist also leads in terms of personal approval ratings, with a 76% satisfaction score among the citizens of Pernambuco.

The governor with the worst approval rating in the survey is Sérgio Cabral, from the PMDB party in Rio de Janeiro. His administration has an approval rating of only 12% among Rio residents, and his personal approval rating is only 29%.

In total, in addition to Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, and Pernambuco, the survey included citizens from Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, and Santa Catarina.

In comparison to President Dilma Rousseff's approval rating with Jaques Wagner's, the percentage of "excellent" or "good" ratings for the head of state is higher than the percentage achieved by the leader from Bahia.

Dilma scored 41%, while only 28% of the same respondents said the same thing. At the top of the pyramid, once again, Eduardo Campos leads with 58%. In Pernambuco, Dilma scores 41% of those surveyed who consider her government excellent or good.
