Bahia 247 - Defense Minister Jaques Wagner said that bringing Vice President Michel Temer (PMDB) into the political coordination is a "pacifying measure" and that in a coalition, burdens and benefits should be shared among those involved. "Bringing Michel Temer in is a pacifying measure, which shows the decision to share. You have to enter a coalition being able to divide burdens and benefits," the minister said during an event in Rio de Janeiro.
Wagner also defended the fiscal adjustment announced by Finance Minister Joaquim Levy. "Nothing enters and leaves Congress in the same way. We cannot say that nothing changes. Either we make the adjustment or we will not return to the path of growth," he stressed.
Regarding the protests against President Dilma Rousseff's government held in several cities across the country last Sunday, the minister said that the government is facing the situation calmly. Regarding calls for military intervention, Jaques Wagner said that this is the desire of a minority and that "it is clear to the Brazilian armed forces that ours is the Constitution. It is our Bible."
