'Wagner will not be intimidated by insinuations from sources'

Brazilian Defense Minister Jaques Wagner responded via a statement to accusations made by UTC Engenharia executive Ricardo Pessoa, as reported by Veja magazine, that he received an irregular donation from the company during his 2006 campaign for governor of Bahia. However, the press office of the Workers' Party member admits that he received a donation of R$ 2,4 million from Ricardo Pessoa in 2010, funds declared in the campaign finance reports approved by the Electoral Court.

Bahia 247 - The Minister of Defense and former governor of Bahia, Jaques Wagner, responded through a statement to accusations made by UTC Engenharia executive Ricardo Pessoa, as reported by Veja magazine. The press office of the Workers' Party member denies that he received any donation from the company during his 2006 campaign, when he won the election for the first time.

Wagner, however, admits in the statement that in 2010 he received a donation from Ricardo Pessoa in the amount of R$ 2,4 million, funds declared in the financial statements approved by the Electoral Court.

"At the same time, Jaques Wagner will not be intimidated by insinuations from 'sources' hiding under the cloak of anonymity," says a statement from Jaques Wagner's press office.
