In the text, the parliamentarians say that, "with perplexity," they followed "the cunning attacks by reactionaries and representatives of conservatism against the ever-present President Lula" and treat the habeas corpus "irresponsibly granted to Lula" as "yet another attempt to tarnish a trajectory of selfless dedication to the Brazilian people."
247 - The city councilors from the Workers' Party (PT) in São Paulo issued a letter of solidarity to former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. In the text, the parliamentarians say they have followed "with perplexity" "the cunning attacks by reactionaries and representatives of conservatism against the ever-present president Lula."
In the message, the council members address the habeas corpus "irresponsibly granted to Lula" as "yet another attempt to tarnish a trajectory of selfless dedication to the Brazilian people." They also express surprise that the matter was leaked "through the social media of an angry opposition parliamentarian," referring to Senator Ronaldo Caiado (DEM-GO), who disclosed the habeas corpus via his Twitter account.
In the text, the council members also state that "the reactionary voices echoing in the mainstream press are emissaries of the class struggle" and that "recognition and support for President Lula will always be reiterated, because our fight for a country for everyone is only just beginning."

STATEMENT FROM THE PT CITY COUNCILORS OF SÃO PAULO IN SOLIDARITY WITH FORMER PRESIDENT LULA
We have watched with perplexity the cunning attacks from reactionary sectors and representatives of conservatism who are trying to tarnish the image of the ever-present president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The most recent fabricated story, the repercussions of a habeas corpus petition irresponsibly attributed to Lula and later identified as an initiative of someone with no connection to the former president, is yet another example of this ongoing attempt to tarnish a selfless trajectory of dedication to the Brazilian people.
We find it strange that the news originated on the social media of a rabid opposition parliamentarian, known for his outcry against the very existence of the PT (Workers' Party). It's worth noting that the federal judge responsible for Operation Lava Jato stated, in a note, that there are no investigations into Lula.
The reactionary voices echoing in the mainstream press are emissaries of the class struggle. Our recognition and support for President Lula will always be reiterated, because our fight for a country for everyone is only just beginning.
