Bahia 247 - The Salvador City Council approved two projects for animal assistance: the creation of the first Popular Veterinary Pharmacy and the implementation of the Mobile Public Veterinary Emergency Service (SamuVet).

"These are the first of many victories we will achieve for pets during this term. The implementation of the popular pharmacy and the public mobile veterinary emergency service will give Salvador a new status in animal care. It is a very important step towards achieving our goal of creating a public network for comprehensive animal care, positioning our capital as a national reference," celebrates councilwoman Marcelle Moraes (PV), author of the two projects.

The Popular Veterinary Pharmacy will sell animal medications directly to consumers at subsidized prices, guaranteeing proper treatment for pets and reducing the practice of animal abandonment by people who cannot afford the high costs of medication.

The Mobile Public Veterinary Emergency Service will guarantee priority care for stray animals that are victims of traffic accidents or aggression in the municipality. Both projects have already been sent to Mayor ACM Neto (DEM), who is responsible for approving or vetoing them (in whole or in part).
