City councilwoman Silvânia Barbosa (PPS) from Maceió was robbed inside a pharmacy. An armed man took her cell phone, credit cards, and a wallet containing money. Due to the wave of pharmacy robberies, the Union of Retailers of Pharmaceutical Products of the State of Alagoas (Sincofarma) has recommended that establishments close earlier.

According to an aide, she was approached by an armed criminal who took her cell phone, credit cards, and wallet containing money. She stated that she would go to the police to file a report. The case will be investigated by the Capital's Robbery Division.
According to information from the Integrated Center for Social Defense Operations (Ciods), the pharmacy was robbed by two armed men who also took money from the establishment. The suspects fled. The crime occurred on Saturday, around 19 pm. That same night, another establishment was also robbed, this time in Farol.
The Retail Trade Union of Pharmaceutical Products of the State of Alagoas (Sincofarma) acknowledges the problem and demands more action to combat these robberies. Because of these incidents, the organization representing the sector recommends that establishments close earlier. "We are requesting that the public authorities provide more police presence near pharmacies," stated Janaina Guedes of Sincofarma.
According to the organization, pharmacies are more vulnerable to robberies because they close earlier and also because robbers "know" they will find money there. "We advise them to close earlier, around 22 or 22:30 pm. The fact is, all businesses are subject to robbery," said Janaina Guedes.
