City councilor claims that police stations in Alagoas are 'cubicles'.

Despite being a supporter of Governor Vilela's (PSDB) administration and being part of his allied base, Maceió city councilman Silvânio Barbosa acknowledges that the governor's two consecutive terms were not enough to find a solution to the lack of physical infrastructure in the Civil Police.

City councilor claims that police stations in Alagoas are 'cubicles'.

Alagoas247 - The lack of historical structure in the Civil Police stations in Alagoas was the subject of discussion at the ordinary session of the Maceió City Council this Thursday (11). Councillor Silvânio Barbosa (PSB) brought the subject to debate and described the structures of the units as "cubicles".

Despite being a supporter of Governor Teotônio Vilela Filho's (PSDB) administration, Silvânio Barbosa acknowledged that the governor's two consecutive terms were insufficient to find a solution to the lack of physical infrastructure in the Civil Police. "It's been years of delay. Since 1992, police stations have been known as mere cubicles. In recent years, few solutions have been found, and the lack of infrastructure is not unique to the Civil Police," he stated.

According to the councilman, the state of Alagoas does not have the financial resources to resolve the situation of the police stations and, therefore, the Federal Government, through the Brazil Safer Security Program, should offer a common solution. “The police stations are dilapidated. The current government is not able to resolve this situation alone. Support from the Federal Government is necessary,” he appealed.
