Vanderlan promises to expand the operations of Rotam and Graer.
In a public gathering in Vila Mutirão, the candidate from the Popular Participation Coalition detailed projects for the area of public security; alongside Senate candidate Aguimar Jesuíno, he promised to create and invest heavily in a police intelligence division, value police officers, and establish a State Security Force; Vanderlan explained that the expression "curriata" derives from the Latin "comitia curiata," a public meeting of the Romans to discuss matters of state with the population.
247 - The candidate for governor from the Popular Participation Coalition, Vanderlan Cardoso, presented on Thursday (24) to voters in Vila Mutirão, Northwest region of Goiânia, one of the proposals of the Goals Plan to reduce crime in the State and, mainly, in the Metropolitan region of Goiânia. The gubernatorial candidate promoted a 'Curriata' on Avenida do Povo. In the evening he asked for votes at the covered fair in Jardim América.
Alongside Senate candidate Aguimar Jesuíno (PSB-Rede), he said he will expand the operations of the elite police units Rotam and Graer; create and invest heavily in a police intelligence division; and value police officers. “We can no longer accept the alarming homicide rates in the state. In Goiânia alone, more than 80 murders were recorded in just one month. More than 40 cars are stolen every day in Goiás,” said Vanderlan, while asking for votes from residents of the region.
The gubernatorial candidate also highlighted the State Security Force, one of the projects in the Goals Plan. "If that region of the state or Goiânia shows high crime rates or an increase in violence, we will deploy the force to that location and it will only leave once the violence is reduced," he declared.
The State Security Force's work will involve an intelligence service that goes to the locations to gather information about the increase in crime. This data will support joint actions by the Military and Civil Police. This work will be done in conjunction with the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary so that the prosecutions of criminals are quick and more effective.
This week, Vanderlan Cardoso has already led three "curriatas" in Goiânia and the metropolitan region. The campaign action consists of the candidate on top of a sound truck, with a microphone in hand, introducing himself, talking, and discussing proposals with voters. At the end of the 'curriata', Vanderlan was asked by resident Jander Cardoso, 43, the reason for the name "curriata". The candidate replied: "Curriata is a term derived from 'comitia curiata', a public meeting of the Romans to discuss matters of state with the population."
The candidate also told the voter that his candidacy listened to the population during the pre-campaign to develop the Goals Plan and that this will continue in the coming months and throughout the four years of government. "I only believe in projects that involve the population," he concluded.
