Vanderlan gets closer to Marconi.

Businessman wants to run for mayor of Goiânia and, eyeing a larger party structure, is approaching Marconi Perillo and his allied base; Vanderlan Cardoso has a meeting scheduled with the governor to discuss possible alliances for next year's mayoral race; the leader of the PSB in Goiás, Vanderlan is distancing himself from the opposition led by the PMDB and is now close to joining the governing bloc; the businessman's ambition could generate friction among members of the PSDB, who have Jayme Rincón, Delegado Waldir, and Fábio Sousa practically as pre-candidates for mayor.

Goiás 247 - The courtship between businessman Vanderlan Cardoso (PSB) and the governing base of Marconi Perillo (PSDB) is becoming serious and has all the makings of a stable union. Vanderlan was defeated once again in the election for governor of the state, but wants to continue his political career.

The new leap is aimed at the mayoralty of Goiânia, and he knows that a solitary candidacy or one with fewer allies will get him nowhere. That's why the businessman is approaching Marconi. The column "Giro" in the newspaper O Popular reports that Vanderlan has already spoken with members of the PSDB party and now has a meeting scheduled with the governor.

In a recent interview, Vanderlan said that he never had anything against Marconi, always had a good relationship with Marconi, and does not see the governor as an enemy. "To enter the race in Goiânia, you need a more robust project," Vanderlan acknowledged.

In an interview with the newspaper O Popular, the businessman recalled the PMDB's monopolization of the top spot on the ticket last year in the gubernatorial election. "I'll talk to them. But it can't be this story of only one candidate, like it was in 2014. We tried to have a dialogue, but it wasn't possible because only one party could head the ticket."

In fact, aligning with the allied base today is a more viable option for Vanderlan than attempting a rapprochement with the PMDB. He was once a member of the party and left through the back door, harboring resentment towards Iris Rezende, who had promised him a leading role in becoming the gubernatorial candidate in 2014.

Iris is the PMDB's candidate for mayor of Goiânia, and no one within the party disputes this nomination. Only Júnior Friboi, who doesn't yet have control of the party and is forced to watch Iris call the shots. However, within the allied base, Vanderlan's life wouldn't be a bed of roses.

The president of Agetop and Marconi's main ally, Jayme Rincón, is practically a pre-candidate for mayor and has the support of the governor. In addition to him, federal deputies Fábio Sousa and Delegado Waldir also want the mayor's office. The governor would then have the task of managing these political maneuvers without creating fissures within his base.
