Goiás 247 - The honorary president of the Organization of Volunteers of Goiás (OVG), First Lady Valéria Perillo, delivered 465 wheelchairs, 110 commode chairs, baby layettes, and disposable diapers to 113 municipalities in Goiás this Tuesday (September 26). Valéria emphasized that, without the participation of the Government of Goiás, "it would be impossible to assist so many people." She recalled that "the State Government is fundamental for the OVG to function, as it is present in all our programs," citing the partnerships and programs carried out with the Marconi Perillo administration.

To ensure that the donations distributed this Tuesday (September 26th) reach those who truly need them, OVG conducted a preliminary screening that takes into account family income and proof of need for the donated item. "They brought all the documentation to our screening team," confirmed Valéria Perillo, who stated that the donations will guarantee "a better life, with more comfort and convenience, for those who need a helping hand."

The general coordinator of the São Vicente de Paula Elderly Shelter in Goiânia, Maria José de Oliveira, representing the beneficiary entities at the event, recalled that social work is important because it reaches out to the disadvantaged. "This is an act of love. These wheelchairs will give independence to the beneficiaries. I am grateful to always be able to count on OVG," she said.

The First Lady of Águas Lindas de Goiás, Aleandra Henrique de Sousa, spoke on behalf of the beneficiary municipalities. "I bring greetings from Mayor Hildo do Candango to OVG and Governor Marconi Perillo, a determined man who has brought progress to all municipalities in Goiás. I also want to thank them for the Citizen Restaurant that was installed in Águas Lindas," she said.

Last year, OVG and its main partner, the State Government, donated 150 essential items (wheelchairs, disposable diapers, layette bags, baby layettes, compression garments, mattresses, and special milk formulas). Valéria also mentioned other programs carried out in partnership with the Government of Goiás. The University Scholarship program, which has benefited 180 students since 1999, "receives more than R$ 20 million every month from the State Treasury," stated Valéria Perillo, citing the program created by Governor Marconi Perillo.

She also mentioned the Restaurante Cidadão (Citizen's Restaurant), with 11 operating units "spread throughout the interior; in Rio Verde, Anápolis, Águas Lindas and Aparecida de Goiânia, in addition to the capital, offering 13 meals every day, which is only possible with the participation of the government." Regarding the other OVG programs, which serve "children, the elderly and social entities," Valéria pointed out that "all receive government support." She also said that "she only has reasons to thank Governor Marconi Perillo for giving total support to this institution, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary next month."
