Ultralight aircraft crashes in Greater Recife and pilot dies in fire.
An ultralight aircraft crashed in Igarassu, on the North Coast of Pernambuco, within the grounds of the Hotel Gavoa located near Coroa do Avião, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife; the pilot, who died burned, lived in Caruaru and had arrived at the hotel on the morning of this Saturday (11); he had the habit of staying at the place and using the ultralight.
Pernambuco 247 – An ultralight aircraft crashed in Igarassu, on the North Coast of Pernambuco, within the grounds of the Hotel Gavoa located near Coroa do Avião, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. The pilot died in the crash.
The accident occurred around 10 am. The victim, José Erivan da Silva, 46 years old, lived in Caruaru, and had arrived at the hotel on the morning of this Saturday (11). He had a habit of staying at the place and using the ultralight accompanied by an instructor.
However, on Saturday he was flying alone and the accident reportedly occurred during landing. The Fire Department sent four motorcycle rescue vehicles to the scene and said the cause of the accident is unknown.
