Tourism in Sergipe will receive $100 million in investments.
Resources will be invested in tourism infrastructure, training, and strengthening municipal management in the state of Sergipe; for three years, teams from Setur (Sergipe State Tourism Secretariat) worked to ensure that all specifications required by the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) were fully implemented; this is the largest external financing ever recorded for tourism in Sergipe. And, due to the technical capacity of the projects presented by Setur, Sergipe was the fourth state in Brazil to sign a contract of this magnitude with the IDB.
ASN - The Government of Sergipe, through the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), has just signed the draft of a financing loan with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the amount of 100 million dollars to be fully invested in tourism infrastructure, training, and strengthening municipal management in the state of Sergipe.
Three years ago, teams from Setur (the Sergipe State Tourism Secretariat) worked diligently to ensure that all specifications required by the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) were fully met. During this time, several bank technicians also visited Sergipe to meticulously analyze everything proposed in the project. "This contract is a milestone for increasing the competitiveness of tourism. With these resources, Sergipe will be able to train its workforce, improve access, rehabilitate monuments, strengthen the marketing of destinations, and bolster municipal management," said the Deputy Secretary, José Roberto de Lima.
It is worth reiterating that this is the largest external funding ever recorded for tourism in Sergipe. And, due to the technical capacity of the projects presented by Setur (Sergipe's Tourism Secretariat), Sergipe was the fourth state in Brazil to sign a contract of this magnitude with the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank).
According to the Secretary of State for Tourism, Elber Batalha, this agreement is one of the greatest achievements ever seen in tourism in Sergipe. "From the day we took over the tourism portfolio in Sergipe, we have worked hard to ensure that the state would be included in this agreement. Without a doubt, it is one of the most important documents I have ever signed in my entire professional life," he believes.
