Tucanos want a CPI (parliamentary commission of inquiry) against Tarso. PT (Workers' Party) against Fortunati.
The six PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) deputies in the Rio Grande do Sul State Assembly have already decided to file a request to establish a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate the environmental area of the Tarso Genro government, whose secretary Carlos Niedersberg was arrested by the Federal Police; however, in the Porto Alegre City Council, the PT (Workers' Party) caucus signed the request for a CPI to investigate the environmental area of Mayor José Fortunati, whose secretary Luiz Fernando Zacchia was also arrested.
Políbio Braga - The six PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) representatives in the Rio Grande do Sul State Assembly have already decided to file a request to establish a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate the environmental area of the Tarso Genro government, whose secretary, Carlos Niedersberg, was arrested by the Federal Police. The group has begun collecting signatures.
No party wanted to sign the request this Tuesday, but the PSDB hopes to count on the signatures of the deputies from the PMDB, PP, DEM, PPS and PDT, reaching the necessary number.
The 14 PT (Workers' Party) deputies, who bolstered all the requests for a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) filed against the Yeda Crusius government, refused to sign any request, claiming that it will be necessary to wait for the conclusion of the Federal Police investigation, something they did not demand when they sponsored the Detran (Department of Motor Vehicles) CPI.
In the Porto Alegre City Council, however, the PT (Workers' Party) caucus signed the request for a Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) into the environmental area of Mayor José Fortunati, whose secretary Luiz Fernando Zacchia was also arrested. So far, 11 of the 12 necessary signatures have been collected.
- Parliamentary commissions of inquiry are always welcome to establish political accountability for specific events, which seems to be the case in the governments of Rio Grande do Sul and Porto Alegre.
