Three Odebrecht whistleblowers confirm illegal campaign contributions to "Saint" Alckmin.

"The bribes were related to works on lines 2 (Green) and 4 (Yellow) of the São Paulo Metro, according to documents seized by the Federal Police in search operations that identified the codename 'saint' in notes and messages from Odebrecht executives. A message sent by the then Odebrecht director responsible for the Line 4 Metro contract, Marcio Pellegrini, requested a payment of R$ 500 for 'campaign assistance with a view to our local interests'," reports Fernando Brito, editor of Tijolaço; the saint, of course, is none other than Geraldo Alckmin, governor of São Paulo, from the PSDB party.

"Saint" Geraldo Alckmin, until now invulnerable to corruption allegations, has problems ahead.

And not those Alstom deals, which the press doesn't like to talk about very much.

Just now, Valor confirmed that "at least three potential informants linked to the Odebrecht Group reported to investigators in Operation Lava Jato the names of alleged fundraisers who supposedly collected resources and allocated them, at least in part, to finance the election campaigns of the governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB)."

“In explaining the meaning of the nicknames and values linked to public works contracts that appear in the accounting of Odebrecht's Structured Operations Sector — a kind of division of bribes revealed by the company's secretary, Maria Lúcia Tavares — the whistleblowers from the business group confirmed to prosecutors that the codename “santo” refers to the nickname used to refer to Geraldo Alckmin.”

When contacted by the newspaper, the governor's press office gave the standard response: all donations were accounted for.

In this case, there is also a reference to the nickname "saint," says Valor.

But let no one rush to condemn Alckmin. This so-called saint may not be affiliated with Opus Dei.

Perhaps it's Opus Peguei.
