Electoral Court suspends new PMDB campaign ad

In a decision issued this Monday, September 8th, at 15:30 PM, Judge Ronaldo Eurípedes stated that the comedian used in the campaign advertisement for the "Experience Makes the Change" coalition disseminates false information about the gubernatorial candidate from the PMDB coalition and, for this reason, prohibited the airing of the advertisement. "The impugned message contains knowingly false information in the part that states that the registration of candidate Marcelo Miranda has already been approved by the Supreme Federal Court, which is untrue," said the judge.

Tocantins 247 - Another campaign ad from the "Experience Makes the Change" coalition, featuring a comedian, has been suspended by order of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-TO). The decision by Judge Ronaldo Eurípedes was published by the Electoral Court this Monday, September 8th, at 15:30 PM.

According to the ruling, the character disseminates false information about the gubernatorial candidate from the PMDB coalition, and for this reason, the broadcast of the advertisement was prohibited. "The impugned message contains knowingly false information in the part that states that the registration of candidate Marcelo Miranda has already been approved by the Supreme Federal Court, which is untrue, since it is well known that the approval of the candidacy registration only occurred within the scope of the TRE/TO (Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins) and is currently under appeal at the Superior Electoral Court. There is no decision from the STF (Supreme Federal Court) regarding this matter."
