Regarding corporate donations, Márcio Macêdo says that, although they are permitted by law, he believes that the PT (Workers' Party) should set an example by no longer accepting this type of financing, since the party advocates for public campaign financing in the political reform. The new treasurer of the PT also highlights the new law on the Party Fund, sanctioned by President Dilma Rousseff, "which goes against private campaign financing, strengthens parties, and helps in the debate on the country's political reform."
