Brasilia – The Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) of the Chamber of Deputies approved today (26) Bill 7.156/10, from the Senate, which establishes a fine for those who fail to comply with Law 5.859/72, which regulates the work of domestic employees. The bill, approved in a conclusive manner, will go to presidential sanction, unless there is an appeal for it to be analyzed by the plenary of the Chamber.
According to the bill, employers who fail to register the hiring of domestic workers in their employment record books will be fined. The fine will be calculated based on a value defined in the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) and will be increased by at least 100%.
The fine may be reduced if the employer voluntarily acknowledges the employee's length of service, making the necessary entries and paying the social security contributions. The amount collected from the fine will be allocated to the affected domestic worker.
