"I have done everything for Goiás," says Minister Baldy.

In an interview with Jackson Abrão, broadcast on the Facebook page of the newspaper O Popular this Monday, the Minister of Cities, Alexandre Baldy, said that he “has done everything to help Goiás” in the federal government; a survey released by the ministry itself last week showed that the department has released R$ 1,2 billion to the state since Baldy became minister on November 2, 2017.

Goiás 247 - In an interview with Jackson Abrão, broadcast on the Facebook page of the newspaper O Popular this Monday, the Minister of Cities, Alexandre Baldy, said that he "has been doing everything to help Goiás" in the federal government.

A survey released by the ministry itself last week showed that the department has allocated R$ 1,2 billion to the state since Baldy became minister on November 2, 2017.

"I'm not saying there's any privilege, but because of the relationship and access that mayors and the governor have with me, we've been able to allocate a massive amount of resources to Goiás," Baldy said in the interview.

Baldy's time at the Ministry of Cities changed the federal government's history of neglect towards the state and attracted so much attention that there was speculation he might run for governor. But he decided to remain minister until December.

"It never crossed my mind to run for governor, because I value the opportunity to be a minister too much at a time when Brazil needs it so much. The mission of being a minister has excited me so much that I didn't even consider running for election," he stated.
