'Temer only knows how to do evil against the people'

In a speech to the Chamber of Deputies, Valmir Assunção, from Bahia, said he is "indignant" with the statement made by the acting vice-president, Michel Temer, regarding the changes he will make if he consolidates his presidency; "My surprise this time is that Temer went to speak with the rich of Brazil, at a meeting in São Paulo, and told them that if he is consolidated as president of the Republic, he will do even more harm to the Brazilian people. This is absurd, it is violence against the worker. A citizen who has already torn up the Constitution, broken the democratic process, thinks that everything he has already taken away is nothing and that everything is normal," says the Workers' Party member.

Bahia 247 - In a speech on the floor of the Chamber of Deputies, Valmir Assunção (PT) from Bahia said on Tuesday (5) that he is "indignant" with the speech of the acting vice-president, Michel Temer, about the changes he will make, should he consolidate himself as president.

"My surprise this time is that Temer went to speak with the rich of Brazil, in a meeting in São Paulo, and told them that if he is consolidated as president of the Republic, that is, if the Senate definitively impeaches Dilma, he will do even more harm to the Brazilian people. This is absurd, it's violence against the worker. A citizen who has already torn up the Constitution, broken the democratic process, thinks that everything he has already taken away is nothing and that everything is normal," says the Workers' Party member.

Valmir interprets Temer's speech as "yet another sign of danger for democracy, for the rights of the people, and for the sovereignty of the country."

"He's already saying that if he continues as president, he will privatize Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica, and Petrobras; he will implement labor reforms so that the Brazilian people work more and earn less. He will reform the pension system so that workers can no longer retire. That's why the need for the Senate to do justice and return the mandate to President Dilma is growing more and more. So that the democratic process and order can be restored."
