President Michel Temer underwent a procedure this morning (29) to remove the bladder catheter (urine collection catheter). According to the medical bulletin released in the early afternoon by the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, in the central region of the capital of São Paulo, the president is in stable condition. The forecast remains that he will be discharged tomorrow (30) and remain at rest in São Paulo on Tuesday (31).

Temer underwent surgery on Friday night (27) due to prostate enlargement. In an interview given yesterday (28), urologist Miguel Srougi, responsible for the procedure, explained that the emergency intervention was necessary because of urethral obstruction.

"He was experiencing urinary retention, with a catheter in his bladder, which was quite uncomfortable, and this catheter needed to be removed. The most likely cause, in his case, is that the prostate had grown back," the doctor explained. Seven years ago, the president had undergone a procedure to address the prostate enlargement.

Visit

The president of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), Paulo Skaf, visited Temer in the early afternoon. According to him, the president was in good spirits and had read an entire book during his hospitalization.
