Tarso leads in the polls for the Rio Grande do Sul state election.
According to a poll conducted by Ibope, the current governor, Tarso Genro (PT), leads in the polls for the Rio Grande do Sul state election, with 27% of the vote; in second place is Senator Ana Amélia (PP), with 26% of the electorate, resulting in a technical tie between the Progressive Party candidate and the head of the Rio Grande do Sul state government.
RS247 – With 27% of the electorate, the current governor Tarso Genro (PT) leads the polls for the Rio Grande do Sul state election. This is according to a stimulated survey by Ibope. According to the survey, Senator Ana Amélia (PP) is in second place with 26% of the electorate, resulting in a technical tie between the Progressive Party member and the head of the Rio Grande do Sul Executive branch. In a second round, the senator would defeat the PT candidate, with 38% of the electorate, while the head of the Rio Grande do Sul Executive branch would receive 23% of the votes.
Five other pre-candidates together account for only 9% of voting intentions in the first round. Among them, the one performing best is José Ivo Sartori (PMDB), with 4%. In turn, federal deputy Vieira Cunha (PDT) garnered 2% of those interviewed – the PDT party is still divided between launching its own candidacy or supporting Governor Tarso Genro.
Commissioned by the RBS group, the survey interviewed 1.008 voters between September 24th and 27th. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points.
