Tarso says that PMDB is "very friendly" and that PT has "fallen silent".
Former governor of Rio Grande do Sul, a member of the Workers' Party (PT), criticizes his party's behavior in Congress regarding the states' debt; "The PT remained completely inert, and the PMDB, an 'ally' with its own clear project, 'snook' the government on the issue of state debt"; "These are significant doses of wear and tear that could be resolved through concerted action with social and political forces that don't want things to get worse," added Tarso Genro.
Rio Grande do Sul 247 – Former governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Tarso Genro, stated on Twitter that the PMDB is "very friendly" and that his party, the PT, "remained silent" when addressing the issue of state debts.
"The PT remained completely inert, and the PMDB, an 'ally' with its own clear project, 'snook' the government on the issue of state debt," the PT member attacked. He defended the "Concertation" method for the case, which "does not require anyone to change their positions, it requires a willingness to seek minimal affinities to overcome impasses."
"Faced with this inaction, a 'very friendly' ally is wearing down a government that is not restructuring its debt and the President's Party, which has remained silent," Tarso Genro continued. Read his messages below:
Restructuring state debt is a hard-won legal requirement. Failure to do so forces states into unsustainable austerity measures.

No federal government will restructure without significant political pressure. In our federal system, the Federal Treasury takes precedence over all other treasuries.

The Concertation method does not require anyone to change their position; it requires a willingness to seek minimal common ground to resolve impasses.

The PT remained completely inert, and the PMDB, an "ally" already with its own clear agenda, "snook" the government on the issue of state debt.

Result: In the face of this inaction, a very close ally is weakening a government that is not restructuring its debt and the President's Party, which has remained silent.

These are significant problems that could be resolved through collaboration with social and political forces that do not want things to get worse, but rather worse.

In a negotiation process, there needs to be a formal agenda, outlining objectives and limits, so that there is an assumption of sincerity...

If it's not like that...it won't happen...
