In the battle to win the Workers' Party primaries in Recife, Maurício Rands is betting on the overexposure of a photo from his meeting with former president Lula last week; the mayoral candidate has ordered a large amount of campaign material featuring the image, along with the phrase: "Lula changed Brazil. You, as a party member, can change Recife."

PE247 - They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But for pre-candidate Maurício Rands, of Construindo um Novo Brasil (CNB), it could be worth thousands of votes in the primaries to nominate the Workers' Party candidate for mayor of Recife. The state government secretary's team is already producing a large amount of campaign material displaying the photo of the last meeting between the mayoral candidate and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, last Friday in São Paulo. Without any ceremony, Rands will capitalize on the indication that the most prominent Workers' Party leader supports his candidacy.

In addition to the photo, the material being produced will feature the phrase: “Lula changed Brazil. You, a member, can change Recife”. For many who are campaigning for Maurício Rands, the appeal will be his big trump card to defeat Mayor João da Costa, who won the primaries held on Sunday (20), but which were annulled by the PT's national executive.
