In November 2013, there were 9.023 robberies, where there is a threat or use of violence against the owner; the region where robberies increased the most was Casa Verde, in the northern zone – an increase of 663%.

According to a survey conducted by Folha de S. Paulo, there were 9.023 robberies (when there is a threat or use of violence against the owner). Before that, the highest number of cases was recorded in March 2001 (9.414).
The number is almost the same as the number of thefts (when there is no violence): 9.905 – a growth of 25,9% compared to 99,4% for robberies.
The region where robberies increased the most was Casa Verde, in the north zone – a 663% increase. In Portal do Morumbi, in the west zone, second on the list, the increase was 417%.Read more).
