Socrates will have a comic book character.
Inspired by the former player, Doutorzinho will be part of an educational project for underprivileged youth.
247 – One of the biggest idols of the Corinthians fans is preparing to launch a comic book character based on his characteristics. The cartoon, inspired by the football figure of the doctor and former player Sócrates, will be called Doutorzinho (Little Doctor) and will be aimed at the education of young people and children. The goal of the project is for Doutorzinho to be faithful to the ideals of Sócrates, who, since his playing days, has participated in programs aimed at underprivileged youth.
The first caricatures, created by Luiz Angelotti's team, show the former player wearing the uniforms of the Brazilian national team and Corinthians, the club with which he won titles during the 70s and 80s. Even with a personality similar to the former player, Doutorzinho will have his own characteristics, according to his creators.
In addition to the comic books, those responsible for the educational project, conceived by Sócrates himself and his wife, Kátia Bagnarelli, are preparing a film adaptation of Doutorzinho. The screenplay will be written by the former player and his co-host on the TV Cultura program “Cartão Verde,” journalist Xico Sá. Although initially aimed only at Brazilian children and schools, the organizers are considering taking the comics to international schools.
Also known as Magrão, Doctor Sócrates was one of the best football players in Brazil. Brother of the player Raí and an idol of São Paulo during the 90s, Sócrates currently practices medicine, in addition to being a columnist for Carta Capital magazine and a commentator on the Cartão Verde program on TV Cultura.
