Socialist criticizes "state capture" by Temer government

The Secretary of Administration of Pernambuco, Milton Coelho (PSB), used Facebook to criticize the government of interim president Michel Temer (PMDB), whom he accuses of having staged a "coup" by removing elected president Dilma Rousseff to seize power, in addition to promoting "politicization of the state"; "Before the coup they complained about the politicization of the state and the political alignment of public servants with the government. Now they are asking for behavior that they previously considered wrong, almost a mortal sin? It's laughable," he posted; previously he had already criticized the Minister of Finance, Henrique Meirelles, calling him a "friend of international banks".

247 - The Secretary of Administration of Pernambuco, Milton Coelho (PSB), used Facebook to once again criticize the government of interim president Michel Temer (PMDB). In a comment posted on a journalist's page, the socialist classified the removal of elected president Dilma Rousseff as a "coup" and stated that the PMDB member is promoting a "politicization of the state."

"Before the coup, they complained about the politicization of the state and the political alignment of public servants with the government. Now they are asking for behavior that they previously considered wrong, almost a mortal sin? It's laughable," he wrote.

The criticism gained momentum on the 22nd, when the state secretary published an article on his social media page with harsh criticism of the Finance Minister, Henrique Meirelles, whom he described as a "friend of international banks".

Milton also criticized the PSC's proposal to create a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate the National Union of Students (UNE). This situation has generated discomfort within the PSB itself and among allied parties.

The PSB allied with the PMDB in Dilma's impeachment and is part of the Temer government's base, in addition to holding positions in the first tier of government. At the regional level, the PSC recently joined the base of Paulo Câmara's (PSB) government and is expected to support the reelection of Geraldo Julio (PSB) as Mayor of Recife.

The criticism is therefore causing discomfort, especially within the PMDB, which refuses to engage in confrontation since the secretary is considered one of the strongmen of the socialist administration in Pernambuco.
