Yellow fever cases rise in Minas Gerais.

A survey released by the State Health Department (SES) indicated that six more deaths from yellow fever have been confirmed in the last four days in Minas Gerais; the number of deaths from the disease this year has risen to 83; the number may be higher, because the department reported that another 90 suspected deaths are being investigated; there are 26 cities in Minas Gerais with fatal victims - Ladainha leads the ranking, with 14 deaths.

Mines 247 - A survey released by the State Health Department (SES) on Tuesday (21) indicated that six more deaths from yellow fever have been confirmed in the last four days in Minas Gerais. Deaths from the disease this year have increased to 83. The number may be higher, because the department reported that another 90 suspected deaths are being investigated. There are 26 municipalities in Minas Gerais with fatal victims - Ladainha leads the ranking, with 14 deaths. 

According to the report, the state has 234 confirmed cases of the disease. Of the 1.027 notifications, 57 were discarded and 736 are still being investigated by health authorities.

The department reported that, to date, Belo Horizonte has not recorded any suspected cases of the disease.
