After the disclosure made by Chilean developer Felipe Hoffa, who works for Google, the code was removed from the page.

In a statement, the Communications Secretariat of the Geraldo Alckmin government reported that the CoinHive code was "probably" the result of an external intrusion. "The Cidadão.SP Portal continues to operate normally. Due to a specific, now-resolved, error, the source code of the page in question was updated.
