Sintrase threatens strike against government's "perverse wage policy".

“What we don’t understand is that when we seek dialogue, we receive information that the State is at the limit of the Fiscal Responsibility Law, but this only applies to us. Other categories benefit from adjustments, such as teachers and employees of the Attorney General's Office. Mr. Jackson Barreto will pay dearly for abandoning us and not attending to our needs,” said the president of the Union of General Administration Employees, Valdir Rodrigues; the category is holding a demonstration this Wednesday.

247 - General administration employees are holding a demonstration against the government this Wednesday (13), with an indication of an indefinite strike. The category, made up of 12,5 workers, is protesting against “the perverse salary policy of governors Jackson Barreto and Marcelo Déda” (as described on the union’s website) and demanding the implementation of a career plan.

“What we don’t understand is that when we seek dialogue, we receive information that the State is at the limit of the Fiscal Responsibility Law, but this only applies to us. Other categories benefit from adjustments, such as teachers and employees of the Attorney General's Office. Mr. Jackson Barreto will pay dearly for abandoning us and not attending to us,” said the president of Sintrase, Valdir Rodrigues, in an interview with Jornal da Ilha, on Wednesday morning.

To pressure the government, the union leader warns that an indefinite strike could be launched. “We don't have a deadline to end a strike. Since the government isn't listening to us, we're going to show that we have strength, because there's no more time to wait. Unfortunately, Governor Déda has never met with us. Acting Governor Jackson Barreto has met with us, but his secretaries inform him that there are no resources, and so we are left without a solution to the problem,” he emphasized. The demonstration by the category is taking place at the State Finance Secretariat.
