The lawyer for Sindiposto (the gas station owners' union) states that the union will appeal the court decision to reduce fuel prices; "we experienced a certain intransigence from Procon (the consumer protection agency). It seems they are seeking media attention, more publicity with this action," he said; he emphasizes that there was no evidence of abusive pricing or illegal practices on the part of the gas stations.
Goiás 247- The Sindiposto union wants to overturn the injunction regarding the return of fuel prices. This is the statement from the lawyer of the Retail Trade Union of Petroleum Derivatives of the State of Goiás (Sindiposto), Adilson Ramos Jr., who made it clear that the union will appeal the court decision, established last week.
He stated that the union acted in good faith and offered consumers a legal and constitutional competitive practice. He further emphasized that there was no evidence of abusive pricing or illegal practices.
"We had a certain intransigence from Procon. It seems that Procon is looking for media attention, more publicity with this action," he said in an interview with CBN Goiás radio, this Monday (10).
Last Friday (07), the inspectors from the superintendence visited 97 establishments named in the Public Civil Action to verify if the court decision is being complied with. In total, 26 stations fully complied with the decision. Thirty-seven reduced prices, but did not prove that the reduction is equivalent to the prices charged before the increase.
