Silvio: "Robson doesn't have the political authority to want the PT to disband."
The Secretary of State for the Civil House, Silvio Santos, refutes a suggestion from PMDB councilman Robson Viana, who advocates for the PT to withdraw from the main ticket to make room for the DEM to support Jackson Barreto's candidacy for Governor in 2014.
Valter Lima, from Sergipe 247 "There's a saying that goes, 'He who talks too much says good morning to a horse.' And councilman Robson Viana has been talking too much and producing too little." This was how the Secretary of State for the Civil House, Silvio Santos (PT), reacted to the interview given by PMDB councilman Robson Viana, who suggested that the PT give up its space on the main ticket in the 2014 elections within the governing group to make room for the DEM.
According to Silvio Santos, "there is absolutely no interest" on the part of acting governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) in removing the PT from the bloc that will support him in next year's election. "There is no other party that is saying that Jackson is the candidate for governor more than the PT. We do this more frequently than Robson's PMDB," the secretary stated in an interview with 247.
And he was even more direct: "Robson has neither the authority nor the political autonomy to want the PT to annul itself in the name of his own particular interests. He has no right to say who the PT should ally with, nor to deny the PT the right to engage in politics. The PT is with Jackson and will be on the main ticket."
The secretary also refuted Robson's statement that the PT never gave up positions within the group to support other candidates. "There is no other party in the history of Sergipe that has understood the need for unity more than the PT. We supported Edvaldo Nogueira in 2008, we stood by Valadares Filho in 2012, and we gave up launching a candidacy for Governor next year to support Jackson. We have always set an example of altruism," he emphasized.
