Civil servants covered by Law 100 will have a longer assistance period.

Mines 247- In a proposal sent to the Legislative Assembly, Governor Fernando Pimentel changed Article 4 of Complementary Law 138, regarding leave for health treatment for civil servants affected by the Supreme Court's decision, which, on December 31, 2015, deemed Law 100/2010 unconstitutional and, consequently, caused these professionals to leave their positions.

Approximately 57 civil servants already receive medical assistance from the Institute of Social Security for Civil Servants of the State of Minas Gerais (Ipsemg). According to the proposal, the waiting time for care is extended for the purpose of disability retirement. (Report from Estado de Minas newspaper.)

"The leave for medical treatment will be converted into disability retirement if, before December 31, 2019, the competent medical board so decides, considering the beneficiary permanently unfit for public service in general," says the text sent by the head of the state executive. 

According to the previously approved law, dismissed civil servants are entitled to use the Ipsemg health plan until December of next year.
