Alagoas 247 - The employees of the Judiciary of Alagoas declared a strike on the morning of this Wednesday (14) which will extend until next Friday. Only essential services of the Judiciary will function in the forums and districts of the capital and the interior.

The decision was made yesterday at a meeting held in front of the Court of Justice, following another mobilization in defense of the approval of the new Job, Career and Salary Plan (PCCS).

In permanent assembly since September, the Judiciary employees had already been carrying out intense mobilization, with alternating days of stoppage. On Tuesday (13), in most judicial units, there was no service. According to a collective decision, the employees stopped, left their workplaces and filled the TJ Plenary, in the expectation that the PCCS would be approved.

The project was on the agenda for the administrative session, but it was not voted on, frustrating the category once again, which responded in one voice: "We are on strike!" According to the mobilization leadership, during the next three days, only essential services will be maintained, through shifts among the employees of each district.

The designation of 'essential services' is based on the functioning of judicial duty rosters. There will be mobilizations and distribution of leaflets in the units, aiming to guarantee the participation of employees in the strike actions and to inform the public and legal professionals about the movement.

MOBILIZATION

The new Career Plan aims to correct distortions contained in the old plan, which remains in effect, and which has generated, over almost 13 years, enormous inequalities among civil servants occupying analogous positions, with the same degree of complexity and the same access criteria, in the Judiciary. In the last two years, a new project has been developed to correct these distortions and is ready to be voted on. However, some of the judges who make up the Full Court of the Court of Justice have delayed the decision, citing budgetary instability.

For the year 2017, as happened in 2016, the expectation for inflation adjustment in the Judiciary's budget will be around 4%, a rate that managers are trying to increase. "We cannot approve a Career Plan, even though we consider it fair, without the certainty that we will have budgetary sustainability to pay for it," justifies Judge Otávio Praxedes, who will preside over the Judiciary of Alagoas starting in January, a position currently held by Judge João Luiz de Azevedo Lessa.

SUPPORT

Yesterday morning, after the plenary session, leaders of the civil servants' movement were invited to participate in a meeting in the office of the president of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Luiz Dantas, seeking support from the deputies to try to increase the projected budget for 2017 and to approve supplementary funds for the Judiciary.

During the meeting, members of the Assembly's Board of Directors and the Budget and Finance Committee pledged their support for the cause and commitment, during the coming days before the parliamentary recess, to prioritize pending matters in the Judiciary, including the bill that establishes the 2016 salary adjustment, also for appointed officials, since the previously approved bill was vetoed by the governor due to a date error.
