Serpes: Marcelo drops 4 points and Sandoval rises 14
The second round of polling for governor by the Serpes Institute, released this Wednesday, the 17th, indicates a 14-point increase for Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD); Marcelo Miranda (PMDB) remains in the lead, but sees his preference decrease by 4,3%; the positive evaluation of Sandoval Cardoso's government rose from 29,3% to 40,1%; the 55 lawsuits for administrative misconduct filed by the State Public Prosecutor's Office and the freezing of Marcelo Miranda's assets contributed to the PMDB candidate's decline; Serpes also surveyed voter preferences for the Senate; check the numbers.
Tocantins 247 - A survey by the Serpes Institute on voting intentions for governor, published this Wednesday, the 17th, by the Jornal do Tocantins, showed a 14 percentage point increase for Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD), from the coalition "The change we see", and a 4,3 point decrease for candidate Marcelo Miranda (PMDB), from the coalition "Experience makes the change", in relation to the institute's survey published on August 17th.
According to the Serpes poll, Marcelo Miranda had 52,7% in August and now has 48,4% of voting intentions. Sandoval Cardoso had 20,1% and now has 34,1%. Ataídes Oliveira (Pros), from the "Reage Tocantins" coalition, had 2,2% and now has 2,5%. Eula Angelim (Psol) and Carlos Potengy (PCB) did not reach 1%. Blank and null votes total 3,1%, those who would not vote represent 1,4%, and undecided voters reach 10%.
Regarding rejection rates, all candidates saw an increase in their percentages. Marcelo Miranda registered a 12-point increase in his rejection rate compared to the last Serpes poll, going from 11% to 23%. Sandoval Cardoso rose from 13,7% to 21,2%. Eula Angelim reached 9,9%. Ataídes Oliveira went from 5,9% to 9,7%. Carlos Potengy went from 4,5% to 9,1%. The percentage of those who do not reject any candidate was 62,7% and is now at 44,7%.
Government approval rating rises.
Sandoval Cardoso also performed well in the evaluation of his government. According to Serpes, 40,1% of voters consider the state administration excellent or good, an increase of 10,8% compared to the August survey. 34,8% consider the government average, up from 40,6% previously, and 11,7% of the population considers the government bad or terrible, up from 16,3% previously.
Senate
The Serpes survey also polled voters on the Senate race. Senator Kátia Abreu (PMDB), from the "Experience Makes the Change" coalition, had 45,9% of voting intentions in August and now appears with 48,8%. Eduardo Gomes (SD), from the "The Change We See" coalition, appears in second place, rising from 14,6% to 19,1%. Sergeant Aragão (Pros), from the "React Tocantins" coalition, had 9,5% and now has 7,6%. Ceiça (PCB) and Elvio Quirino (Psol) did not reach 1%. Blank and null votes were 5% and are now 4,2%. Undecided voters fell from 22% to 17,5%.
The Serpes survey was commissioned by the Jornal do Tocantins newspaper. The margin of error is 3,46 percentage points, plus or minus, and the confidence level is 95%. 801 voters were interviewed in 38 municipalities between September 11th and 16th. The survey is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under number 23.400/2013 and with the TRE (Regional Electoral Court) under number 00028/2014.
