Senator from the PSB party is already considered part of the opposition in Bahia.
"Senator Lídice da Mata has already decided that she is a candidate and is no longer part of the base. She will support Eduardo Campos, she will run for office, and she will leave the government," affirms the president of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia, Deputy Marcelo Nilo (PDT), who is also a pre-candidate; referring to the move by the governor of Pernambuco, he says that "there is an irreversible decision" that makes Lídice a candidate outside the arc of possible alliances with the PT.

Although she has not yet officially announced her candidacy for Governor of Bahia, Senator Lídice da Mata, from the PSB party, is already seen as opposition by the PT and other parties supporting Governor Jaques Wagner.
With her name practically imposed in the race by the leading figure of the socialists, the governor of Pernambuco and presidential candidate Eduardo Campos, the senator has said that she hopes to be Wagner's candidate (which will not happen) and that at no point will she position herself as an opponent. But her allies do not trust her words.
"Senator Lídice da Mata has already decided that she is a candidate and is no longer part of the base. She will support Eduardo Campos, she will run for office, and she will leave the government," said the president of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia, Marcelo Nilo (PDT), who is also a pre-candidate.
Referring to Eduardo Campos's move, the PDT member from Bahia said in an interview with Tudo FM radio that "there is an irreversible decision" that makes Lídice a candidate outside the range of possible alliances with the PT.
The PSB senator was elected on the ticket headed by the PT in 2010, but according to Marcelo Nilo, only his own candidacy outside the PT clan represents an alternative within Wagner's own base.
The governor, in turn, recently said that it's not how someone could launch a candidacy outside of the current project and remain within the base.
