Senate approves $45 million loan for Teresina.

Piauí Today - The Federal Senate approved this Tuesday (10) the contracting of external credit of up to US$ 45 million by the city of Teresina. The matter was included on the House Plenary agenda after Senator Ciro Nogueira (Progressistas) submitted a request for urgency in processing the process.

With the approval, the operation between the city hall of the capital and the Andean Development Corporation – CAF, with the guarantee of the Union, is authorized for partial financing of the Integrated Urban Development Program - Sustainable Teresina.

“Following the entire process until approval was a mission that Mayor Firmino gave me here in the Senate. These are very important resources for Teresina, which is why I worked hard to ensure that the operation could be released,” the senator celebrated.

During the Senate discussion of the matter, Ciro explained that Teresina is one of the fastest-growing capital cities in the country, and with that growth, the demands and problems also increase, making investment fundamental for improving the city's urban infrastructure.

Sustainable Teresina

The Teresina Sustainable program encompasses actions in four areas: urban mobility; urban and environmental requalification; institutional modernization and management. The resources will be used in various projects in Teresina, including the Via Sul, which will run from the exit of the Wall Ferraz Bridge to Manoel Aires Neto Avenue, in the Parque Sul neighborhood.

The Teresina city center rehabilitation project will also receive investments, such as the upgrading of streets and sidewalks, planning for the redevelopment of urban spaces, and tree planting. The Fossil Forest Park is expected to undergo a revitalization and preservation project, allowing the public to visit the park.
