Seminar will discuss urban mobility in Recife.
The meeting will include representatives from Spain, Peru, and Colombia; the objective is to select elements for the creation of a Pact for Urban Mobility in the city.
Raphael Coutinho _PE247 – The seminar “City and Mobility”, promoted by the Recife City Hall in partnership with the University of Pernambuco (UPE) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), began this Wednesday (20). The meeting aims to discuss urban mobility in large centers and will include representatives from Spain, Peru and Colombia. Until next Friday (22), elements necessary for the creation of a Pact for Mobility in the capital of Pernambuco will be debated.
The exchange of experiences among participants will be the main objective of the Seminar. The program highlights the participation of professors and mobility specialists from UPC and the Barcelona Movilidad project: architect Francesc Ventura and engineer Carles Labraña, who established the Barcelona Mobility Pact. They will present lectures on the Barcelona Mobility System and the Pact, as well as other examples from Catalonia.
The program also includes a lecture on the Recife Mobility Plan, which was created in February 2011 and includes the implementation of bicycle parking facilities, taxi stands, the construction of 15 parking garages in the main areas of the city, urban redevelopment, and a sustainable study plan.
