With no space in the government, PR remains in ACM's sights.
Mayor ACM Neto has been in talks with the PR party, which still lacks a defined role in Rui Costa's government, since the beginning of the year. Allies of the mayor have been in dialogue with the PR since February, hoping the party will join the Democrat's coalition in the 2016 elections, when he will seek re-election. The Democrat is said to have offered the Republicans the Municipal Secretariat of Social Promotion; however, according to the president of the PR in Bahia, João Carlos Bacelar, the party is still awaiting a possible position in the state government.
Bahia 247 - Mayor ACM Neto (DEM) has been in talks with the PR party, which still lacks a defined role in Rui Costa's (PT) government, since the beginning of the year, looking for a potential ally for the 2016 elections.
According to a publication in the newspaper A Tarde, allies of the mayor have been in talks with the PR party since February, hoping that the party will join the Democrat's coalition in the 2016 elections, when he will try to be re-elected.
In conversations between ACM Neto and the party, the possibility arose of the PR party nominating someone for the Municipal Secretariat of Social Promotion, Sports and Poverty Alleviation, which is currently headed by state representative Bruno Reis, from the PMDB party.
President of PR in Bahia, federal deputy João Carlos Bacelar, said yesterday (21) that the party is interested in taking over the State Secretariat for Economic Development. James Correia, the current head of the department, announced his departure from the secretariat two weeks ago.
"The governor stated that the first vacant secretary position would go to someone from the PT party. Naturally, I made the request. Now, whether that secretary position is within the governor's quota or not, I cannot say," said Bacelar.
