Security: Marcelo Miranda participates in the Legal Amazon Forum.

Tocantins 247 -Governor Marcelo Miranda will be in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre, on Thursday and Friday, the 26th and 27th. Starting at 18 PM on Thursday, he will participate in the 16th edition of the Forum of Governors of the Legal Amazon. On Friday, the 27th, at 9 AM, Marcelo Miranda will join other state governors from across the country for the Meeting of Governors of Brazil for Security and Border Control - Drug Trafficking, a national emergency.

The meeting of Amazonian states will discuss the joint strategies adopted by the bloc for the sustainable development of the region. Among the main topics of this edition are the preparations for the participation of the nine states in the Conference of the Parties (COP 23), which will take place in November in Bonn, Germany. 

Prior to the governors' assembly, meetings will be held throughout the day with representatives from the Chambers of Communication, Consortium, Environment, Security, and Tourism.

According to the organizers, the meeting on Friday the 27th aims to foster debate and promote effective actions against drug trafficking and the fragility of border security in the Brazilian Amazon, as well as to propose a broad alliance between states and the federal government to strengthen integrated security actions.

The event is expected to bring together governors from the 27 states of the federation. The President of the Republic, Michel Temer; ministers of state; representatives of the Supreme Federal Court, the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate, as well as international authorities, are expected to attend.
