Marx Beltrão's "second vote" could be decisive for the Senate.

Former Tourism Minister Marx Beltrão (PSD) is grappling with the composition of his list of candidates for federal deputy; but before that decision, he must focus on securing a second vote for the Senate. Marx has already indicated that he will support Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB), and the trend suggests he will also support Senate pre-candidate Maurício Quintella (PR), which could be decisive, according to journalist Edivaldo Junior.

Marx Beltrão's "second vote" could be decisive for the Senate.

By Edivaldo Junior/gazetaweb.com - Former Tourism Minister Marx Beltrão (PSD) is now dealing with the composition of his ticket for federal deputy. Everything indicates that he will run in a coalition that may include, among other parties, the MDB (Isnaldo Bulhões JR), the PR (Sérgio Toledo), the PRB (Severino Pessoa), the Avante (Carimbão), the PDT (Ronaldo Lessa and Marcelo Tadeu) and the PT (Paulão).

Putting together the federal slate within the government group is complicated and is only expected to be finalized around August 5th, the date on which the parties supporting Renan Filho (MDB) will hold their conventions.

Before that, Marx Beltrão must go out into the field to work on securing the second vote for the Senate.

He has already announced that he will march with Governor Renan Filho and Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB).

The other Senate vote is expected to be from Maurício Quintella (PR). The two served as deputies and ministers together and maintain a close relationship.

Marx Beltrão's vote in this specific case could indeed be decisive. This is because, as a pre-candidate for the Senate, Marx Beltrão had the support of about 20 mayors in the "second vote," which he can and should transfer to the candidate he supports. These are mayors and leaders not only from the southern region, where he has a more consolidated political base, but also from other regions, such as the Agreste, Sertão, and Zona da Mata.

The decision to support Quintella, as far as is known, has already been made. However, both seem to prefer to wait a little longer before announcing the decision. First, they want to talk to each of the leaders so that the process is as "natural" as possible.
