Ceará Pacífico will hold its second meeting of the year this Saturday (21), at the Abolition Palace, with the aim of planning the state's security based on inter-secretarial integration and successful national experiences. “We involved all civil society entities in the discussion and we will present actions focused on the most critical locations in Ceará. It is essential that we integrate the various areas of the Government and we will also bring together successful examples from Brazil to draw up the strategic plan for the state,” said Governor Camilo Santana. The first Ceará Pacífico meeting was held on January 18.

In addition to Governor Camilo Santana, Vice-Governor Izolda Cela, and 12 state secretaries and commanders of security agencies, the meeting was attended by the president of Iplanfor and coordinator of the Government Plan, Eudoro Santana; Professor César Barreira, from the Laboratory for Violence Studies at UFC; Renato Sérgio Lima, from the Brazil Forum for Security; Luís Flávio Sapori, coordinator of the Center for Studies and Research in Public Security at PUC Minas; and José Luiz Raton, creator of the Pact for Life program, among other specialists.

"The solution to violence doesn't come quickly and immediately, but requires strategic planning, and the Government has a project to outline concrete and objective actions," stated Luís Flávio Sapori, coordinator of the Center for Studies and Research in Public Security at PUC Minas. The meeting began with a presentation by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Delci Teixeira, on data from recent years in Ceará.
