Iris's secretary is accused of calling city councilors "crooks".
The leader of the PMDB in the Goiânia City Council, Clécio Alves, stated, during a session this Tuesday (14), that the municipal secretary of Human Rights, Filemon Pereira, called the councilors “scoundrels” and “dirty bags”; according to the PMDB member, there is evidence of the statement by the aide to Mayor Iris Rezende (PMDB) and, therefore, he requested a meeting with the 35 parliamentarians to present what is apparently a video of the insults.
Opção Newspaper (Alexandre Parrode) - The leader of the PMDB in the Goiânia City Council, Clécio Alves, stated during a session this Tuesday (November 14th) that the municipal secretary of Human Rights, Filemon Pereira, called the councilors "crooks" and "dirty bags".
According to the PMDB member, there is evidence of the statements made by the aide to Mayor Iris Rezende (PMDB), and therefore he requested a meeting with the 35 parliamentarians to present what appears to be a video of the insults.
"Everyone here is a crook, a bandit, a dirty scoundrel. That's what the Secretary of Human Rights said," he asserted.
According to Clécio Alves, Filemon Pereira also said that what happened to councilors Vinícius Cirqueira (PROS) and GCM Romário Policarpo (PTC) — assaulted by military police officers last week — was "well deserved" and that, perhaps this way, "they will stop bothering the mayor."
The revelation outraged councilors, such as Elias Vaz (PSB), Anselmo Pereira (PSDB) and Lucas Kitão (PSL), who will demand the summoning of Iris's aide and announced that they will take legal action against him.
GCM Romário Policarpo was much harsher: he called the secretary a racist, a bandit, and a crook, and warned that if the mayor keeps him in office, he will leave the city hall's support base. Vinícius Cirqueira sympathized with his colleague and followed suit.
Jornal Opção tried to contact the secretary, but the calls went unanswered.
Filemon Pereira was the press secretary for former congresswoman and current first lady Iris Araújo and one of Iris Rezende's closest journalists. He was appointed secretary in January of this year.
Recurrent
This is not the first time that a secretary of Iris Rezende has attacked city councilors. Samuel Almeida, head of the Government Secretariat, and Fátima Mrué, from the Health Secretariat, have also addressed the councilors with words such as "stupid," "crooks," and "imbeciles." Publicly, they deny this.
