Seciju denies unjustifiable expenditure of resources.

The State Secretariat for Citizenship and Justice (Seciju) issued a statement regarding a report by the newspaper Globo, which indicated that Tocantins and five other states were irregular in their spending of funds from the National Penitentiary Fund (Funpen). According to the Secretariat, Tocantins "did not make any unjustifiable use" of the funds. "There was a misinterpretation, as Tocantins is certainly not on the list of states that made unjustified use of the resources. What occurred was the need for a correction in an administrative procedure, which has already been done. The funds are deposited in accounts at Banco do Brasil intact, totaling more than R$ 45 million," informed Seciju.
