SP 247 - The São Paulo state PT directory is only waiting for Senator Marta Suplicy to announce her departure from the party to claim her mandate from the Electoral Court. The party leadership consulted jurisprudence and asked lawyers for opinions, according to a publication in the Painel column of the Folha de São Paulo newspaper, this Saturday (11).
The leaders were informed that the majority of decisions indicate that the majority mandate also belongs to the party. According to these opinions, the person who would assume the position would be the second alternate, Paulo Frateschi from the Workers' Party (PT), and not Minister Antonio Carlos Rodrigues (Transport), who is affiliated with the Republican Party (PR).
The Workers' Party (PT) will also remove Marta's seat from the Senate committees she participates in as soon as she officially announces her departure.
Marta Suplicy resigned from her position as Minister of Culture on November 11th and since then has been relentlessly criticizing the government, not only in the cultural sphere but in practically every decision made by the Presidential Palace. The Workers' Party (PT) has also been a target of her attacks.
