Lucas Reginato _247 - Saxophonist Thiago França achieved success last year as a member of several musical projects that created a new cultural scene – the advent of independent projects that found their main promotional tool in social media. Criolo, Metá Metá, MarginalS, Rómulo Fróes – all of them counted on Thiago's help, and now, for the first time, he is releasing an album from his solo project, Sambanzo.

The project reveals Thiago's musicality, which resonates in his collaborations, as well as elements that he can only showcase in a project exclusively his own. The African rhythm is evident not only in the album's name, Ethiopia, but also in its melodies and rhythms that recall Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, among other references.

Joining the saxophonist on this adventure are recurring partners: Kiko Dinucci on guitar, Marcelo Cabral on bass, Samba on percussion, and Pimpa on drums. Nothing seems to have emerged from anywhere other than an environment of sonic experimentation. The flexibility of the tracks shows that there isn't one particular influence, but rather the intense musical experience that Thiago has lived through during his career.

The album was made available for free download by Thiago França himself. internetThe buzz has already started to appear on social media, with people enthusiastic about Sambanzo's new sound. If this is how new artists prefer to promote their music, then they also find inspiration there, since, clearly, just like the internet, the sounds of Ethiopia seem to have no borders.
