During the opening of the seminar for New Municipal Managers, held this Wednesday, the 8th, Secretary Francisco Costa announced more than R$ 230 million in investments for the state's health sector for the period of 2017/2018. Among the investments are constructions, renovations and expansions of hospital units, as well as the acquisition of equipment.

“With these investments, the regional hospitals will have a standard that we are implementing, with greater efficiency, since we are providing equipment, and we should already be delivering furniture to the Dirceu Arcoverde State Hospital in Parnaíba, where we recently delivered ten neonatal ICU beds,” comments Costa.

The secretary also lists investments that are in the bidding phase, totaling more than R$ 140 million, such as the new Maternity Hospital in Teresina, which will have its bidding process open in early March, the new Hospital in Picos, for which a tender should be released in March, and also the Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CER) II and IV, in the municipalities of Parnaíba and São João do Piauí.

For the renovation and expansion of hospitals, more than R$14 million is earmarked for hospitals in Floriano, Campo Maior, and Piripiri, among other units.

The restructuring of hospitals also involves the acquisition of equipment, with investments exceeding R$74 million, both from parliamentary amendments and resources from the Union Budget. "Of the R$32 million allocated for equipment, we have more than 80% tendered to begin the acquisition process, which will include regional hospitals and those in Teresina as well," he states.
