(Reuters)- German company SAP plans to double the size of its sales and software business within two years, the company's top seller told Reuters, moving closer to market leader Salesforce.

SAP, a dominant provider of software that helps companies manage administrative functions, including finance and supply chain, recently announced that it will boost CRM, a software for managing customer relationships.

By combining tools for sales, marketing, commerce, customer service, and consumer data protection into its new C/4HANA, SAP aims not only to grow with the market but also to grab market share from competitors.

"We will double the CRM business for SAP in the next two years—there's no doubt about that," said SAP Customer Experience President Alex Atzberger in a phone interview.
