Tocantins 247 - To reconcile the tourism potential and cultural riches of the interior of Tocantins as an attraction to draw visitors and boost the economy of regions that do not always receive as much attention as cities with more well-known and frequented beaches. This is the intention of Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD), candidate for re-election for the coalition "The change we see".

"We have natural beauty and cultural attractions in many cities like Paranã, Itacajá, and Itaguatins, just to name a few. I visited these cities over the weekend and saw great tourism potential in each one. Therefore, our proposal is to create a permanent policy to support all municipalities so that they can have a structure capable of promoting this potential, attracting and serving tourists well," said Sandoval.

Sandoval also mentioned that he is already paving the BR-153 highway to Itacajá, a city that hosts the traditional Rally das Águas, which this year brought together thousands of people. "This project will change the reality of the region, improve access, and as a result, the city will have more visitors who will get to know the region and boost the city's economy, especially at this time of year," Sandoval stated.

In this first beach season under the Sandoval Cardoso administration, more than R$ 5 million was invested in municipalities across all regions, providing opportunities for setting up beach infrastructure, including in areas where these initiatives had not previously been sustained. In addition to the beaches, support was maintained for traditional religious festivities and also for so-called off-season carnivals in inland cities, such as Miracaxi in Miracema.

"For us, it's a satisfaction to rescue beaches like Dominguinhos in Paranã, which had been forgotten, and we've put it back on the state's tourist map. Another example is Dianópolis, which had long wanted its own beach, and now this partnership has made it possible to realize the dream of the residents of that region, who now have a closer and very beautiful leisure spot. There are many cities with tourism potential, and we will work in partnership more and more to generate jobs and income for our people," he concluded.
