Tocantins 247 - Governor Sandoval Cardoso, running for re-election with the coalition "The Change We See," is discussing with healthcare professionals the best format for managing the state's healthcare system. The idea is to create a fund that will be managed by the healthcare units themselves, giving them autonomy. This is one of the alternatives already discussed and agreed upon with the doctors and will be implemented soon.

With this measure, Sandoval intends to expedite the resolution of specific problems. "The biggest enemy of healthcare today is bureaucracy, and those who need care cannot wait," Sandoval stated.

In addition to granting autonomy to hospital management, the government of Sandoval Cardoso is investing approximately R$ 1 billion in infrastructure, and soon, according to reports, Tocantins will have doubled its healthcare capacity.

"The way to solve the health problems is by adapting our service capacity to the demand. The State went more than 10 years without planning and without building a single bed, and now, in just four months, we have unlocked the funding and are speeding up the construction of the HGP (Palmas), the hospitals in Porto Nacional, Paraíso and Augustinópolis, and the new hospitals in Gurupi and Araguaína," said Sandoval.

In this way, Governor Sandoval Cardoso ordered the implementation of improvements in existing units, such as the expansion of the current Araguaína hospital by 25 more beds, the installation of a mammogram machine in Gurupi, which required the construction of a power substation that was authorized and built during Sandoval's administration, and the resumption of elective surgeries at the Augustinópolis hospital in the coming days.

"We are taking steps to ensure that the hospitals currently in operation can provide good care until the new ones are ready," he concluded.
